Here's What I can Do For Ya

I've spent over 15 years figuring out what I'm good at. Turns out — it's this.

If you need someone who can walk onto a set, into a boardroom, or into a writers room and immediately make things better, I'm probably your person. Here's what that actually looks like in practice.

Commercial & Corporate Directing

I've directed everything from fast-turnaround brand spots to high-production broadcast specials — and I approach all of it the same way. What's the story? Who's the audience? What do we want them to feel when it's over?

A complex brand message shouldn't feel like a complex brand message on screen. It should feel inevitable. Clean. Worth watching twice. I've spent over a decade working with brands, organizations, and broadcasters to make content that looks cinematic and actually connects — not just content that checks a box and lives on a hard drive somewhere.

I've directed corporate documentary work for organizations like the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, broadcast specials for Global Television including the Edmonton Opera Valentine's Day Gala, and commercial and branded content for clients across Alberta and beyond. High-production value isn't a luxury — it's the difference between content people watch and content people skip.

This is where I live. Writing is the loneliest part of the job and also the most important — because if the story doesn't work on the page, it's not going to work anywhere else. Trust me, I've seen what happens when people skip this step. It's not pretty.

I've written for broadcast television, feature film, and everything in between. My credits include writing for CMT Canada series Pet Heroes and Paul Brandt's Build it Forward, Story Editor on the horror-suspense feature Knuckleball, and a broadcast hour documentary called 261 Hours: A Hockey Marathon. I'm also a Nicholl Fellowship Quarterfinalist — which is the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' way of saying the writing is legit.

Whether you need a script written from scratch, a story that's stuck and needs unsticking, or a series that needs a writer who understands both the creative and the broadcast side — I've been in all of those rooms and I know how to help.

Screenwriting & Story Development

I'll be honest with you — producing is not the fun part... but it's a vital part. Organizing a crew, hammering out logistics, eating shit when everything goes wrong (or rather learning how to produce properly so you don't have to eat shit anymore)... somebody has to do it, and sometimes that somebody is me. I'm ok with that. I want productions to be fun, run smoothly, and above all I want the budget to actually show up on screen.

I've produced hours and hours of content — so much that it makes me feel old just thinking about it. Through ongoing production partnerships with broadcasters and media organizations including Corus Entertainment, I've delivered broadcast and digital commercials, alternative programming, and longform content at scale. I know how to manage a budget, build a crew, navigate a broadcaster, and keep a production moving when things inevitably go sideways.

Because they always go a little sideways. More than half of this industry is built on having a really good plan B, C, D, and E.

If you need someone to run your production from the RFP to the wrap report — or just come in and stabilize something that's already in motion — that's a thing I can do. It's a thing I have done. Many, many times.

Creativity & Storytelling

I've read enough Joseph Campbell to know that being human is fundamentally about telling stories, hearing them, and passing them along.
